18-21 September 2023, New York – A high-level delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) arrived in New York to attend, as IGO Observer, in the High-level Segment of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
This year, the UNGA convenes under the topic “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all”.
On the side of UNGA, PAM MPs will meet with Senior UN Officials and top foreign governments representatives.
Among the objectives of the visit, there is conveying to relevant counterparts the elements gathered during the recent PAM high-level missions to Syria and the Middle East, as well as to present its newly established strategic think tank programme, the PAM Centre for Global Studies.
On 21 September, PAM will be also represented in the 8th edition of the International Youth Conference, and the High-level meeting for UNAOC Group of Friends, convened by United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).//
