Republic of San Marino, 5 June 2023 - On the occasion of the visit of H.E. Sen. Enaam Mayara (Morocco), President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) and of the House of Councillors of the Kingdom of Morocco, PAM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Centre for Disaster Medicine of the Council of Europe (CEMEC).

The MoU was signed by PAM President, H.E. Sen. Enaam Mayara, and the President of CEMEC, Professor Roberto Mugavero.

The European Centre for Disaster Medicine of the Council of Europe (CEMEC) has a mandate to, inter alia, promote and develop disaster medicine training and research to mitigate the impact of natural and technological disasters on human life.

The MoU will help PAM and CEMEC addressing lasting, sustainable and inclusive disaster relief solutions in the health sector in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions, while fostering cooperation on issues related to disaster risk reduction and public health hazards.

PAM remains committed to reinforcing cooperation between international institutions and specialized centers, such as CEMEC, to strengthen the implementation of training, research, education and to reinforce regional preparedness for natural disasters and man-made emergencies.//
