On 31 March 2014, a meeting took place at the National Council of Monaco between the Monegasque delegation to PAM, lead by Hon. Nathalie Amoratti-Blanc, and the Secretary General of the Assembly, Amb. Sergio Piazzi.

The meeting focused on the preparations for the IX Standing Committee Meetings and Plenary Session, which will be hosted by in the Principality of Monaco on 3-5 February 2015, and officially inaugurated by H.S.H. Prince Albert II.
In addition to the administrative aspects of the PAM major annual yearly event, options for the main themes of interest to the Mediterranean for the Monaco event, were explored and will be presented to the forthcoming PAM Bureau in Athens.

The discussion in Monaco also dealt with the project on further education for University and Post graduate students on matters relevant to the work of PAM in the region, ranging from governance, protection of the environment to human rights.

The project entitled “PAM Summer School” which is being co-organised between PAM, UNESCO and the Sorbonne University, has also attracted the interest of the Principality of Monaco for possible participation and co-funding. PAM is already working at this project, which is the result of the vision presented within the PAM FEZ Programme adopted in 2008 in Morocco. It is being coordinated by the PAM UNESCO Liaison Officer in Paris, Dr. Salvatore Giannino, and the PAM Senior Advisor, Dr. Nicolas Memola.
