PAM STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE FREE ELECTIONS FOR THE CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY IN TUNISIA

PAM STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE FREE ELECTIONS FOR THE CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY IN TUNISIA
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean is particularly proud today in following the elections in Tunisia as part of the process for the establishment of democratic institutions and the direct participation of the citizens in their country’s administration.

The Tunisian population has courageously initiated a process of global change and they deserve all the support they wish to receive from the international community. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean will continue to monitor the unfolding developments in this constituent process and will make all its efforts to respond promptly to any request the Tunisian authorities will forward to the Assembly, a family of more than 500 million people in the Mediterranean region.

The Bureau and the Secretariat would like to take this opportunity to wish a successful outcome to this historical moment for the implementation of the values of democracy, freedom, human rights and dignity in the region.
